Just One Number

Just One Number is a single point of access for Norfolk & Waveney Children & Young People's Health Services. This includes:

The Norfolk Healthy Child Programme
Requests for support for mild to moderate mental health needs
Norfolk & Waveney children's speech and language therapy service.

Families and professionals can get in touch about any children or young people aged 0-19 (or 24 for those with an additional need or disability) by calling 0300 300 0123.

You can call Just One Number yourself, so long as you are aged 11-19 and live in Norfolk. You might not want to call us - that's okay - we have a text service called ChatHealth you could use instead.

Your call might be because you have a question or a worry about your physical & emotional health, or communication development. Whatever your reason to contact us, our team are here to help you.

All You Need To Know

When you call, one of our skilled admin team will ask you for your details. They will firstly confirm they can access your electronic health records. This is the digital record where health professionals record contacts with children, young people and their families.
- The team will ask for a brief idea of why you are calling. If it is to change an appointment or leave a message for one of our team they can do this for you there and then.
- If you need more specialist advice they will direct you to a health professional in Just One Number who can help. We have health visitors, assistant practitioners, 5-19 practitioners as well as specialist speech & language, emotional health and healthy lifestyle staff available to talk to you.
- If the right practitioner to help you is busy on another call, they will call you back at a good time for you.
- The practitioner will talk to you about your reason for calling. They can give advice and think with you what might be the next best steps to take to help you. They can email or text you helpful written information and links to useful websites too.
- The will access whether they also need to talk to a parent or carer and will speak to you about this.
- They can talk to you about other services that might help. They will give you contact details or make necessary referrals if you agree it would be helpful.
Sometimes your concern might not be able to be fully sorted over the phone. If this is the case, we can refer you for further support with one of our Healthy Child Programme or Speech and Langauge Teams.
Yes! You can text us by using ChatHealth.

ChatHealth is a secure NHS approved text messaging service. All young people aged 11–19 can text to start a conversation with a trained health professional.
